Captain Jason is a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed captain and lifelong Louisiana angler with decades of experience in New Orleans’ backwater systems. He’s fished these waters since childhood and knows every hotspot, current shift, and tidal trick that gets fish biting. He’s committed to making every trip a fun, educational experience—whether you’re a veteran angler or someone casting for the first time. You can expect patient instruction, local stories, and a passion for putting you on the catch of your life.

If you’re visiting from out of town, there are plenty of great places to stay nearby. We have a great guest house available to you. You can also stay elsewhere in Lafitte or in the city. Jason can recommend local lodges, waterfront cabins, or hotels that make early-morning departures easy.

Learn What To Expect On The Waters

Where do your fishing trips leave from?

All trips depart from Lafitte, Louisiana, about 35–40 minutes south of New Orleans. Once you book, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the exact address, directions, and what to expect when you arrive.

Trips typically leave at safe daylight — usually between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m., depending on the season. Jason will confirm your start time the day before based on weather and tides.

Bring a Louisiana fishing license, snacks and drinks, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, and anything else you’d like for comfort. We provide all rods, reels, bait, tackle, and ice for your catch.

Yes. Louisiana requires a Charter Passenger License for non-residents, available online at www.wlf.louisiana.gov (about $20). You can purchase it in just a few minutes before your trip.

Our standard charters run about 5 hours, but time may vary slightly based on travel distance and fishing conditions. Full-day custom trips are available upon request.

Yes! Jason will clean, bag, and ice your fish so it’s ready to take home or cook fresh that night. You don’t have to lift a finger.

Your captain constantly monitors the forecast. If conditions are unsafe, he’ll contact you in advance to reschedule or refund your trip — whichever you prefer.

Absolutely. Our trips are family-friendly and beginner-friendly, with patient guidance and all the help you need to catch your first fish. Kids of all ages are welcome.
